New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NMSBVI) is interested in hiring a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) to assist blind and visually impaired students achieve their greatest level of independence. This is a full-time, 9-month position working on a residential campus with students ages 3-21, some of whom have multiple disabilities. Position available for the 25-26 school year. Qualifications

Master’s degree in special education or related field and a minimum of five years’ experience providing services to special education students in the classroom. Must have a thorough understanding of IDEA-B law and hold a level 3 New Mexico Teaching license. New Mexico Administrative licensure preferred. Must become Braille proficient.
