New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Outreach Services Division is currently recruiting for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This creative, independent individual will provide direct services to students with visual impairments around the state. Duties will also include student assessment, support to districts in developing and participating in IEP meetings, case load evaluations, and training. Ability to travel within the state is an essential requirement for this position. May also provide training, resources, consultation and support to school district staff throughout the state of New Mexico. This is a 183-day contract and covers the full school year. Travel is required. A home office will be set up and a car will be provided. Position available for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications

Licensure as a TVI is required. Must be eligible for certification in New Mexico and must meet NMSBVI’s Braille proficiency requirement.
