The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting for a Classroom

Teacher. This successful individual will have the flexibility in background and training to provide a

comprehensive educational program to elementary students with visual impairments, and/or multiple

disabilities. Will be required to become Braille proficient. Full-time, 9-month contract for the 25-26

school year. Position open until filled.

Qualifications

Experience with elementary school-aged students is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special

Education is required and/or Elementary Education preferred. Certification in Vision is preferred but

can be acquired after hire. Must possess or be eligible for NM Public Education Department licensure.
