Special Education Teacher

Job Description:

The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting for a Special Education Teacher. This successful individual will have the flexibility in background and training to provide a comprehensive educational program to special education students with visual impairments, and/or multiple disabilities.

Full‑time, 9-month contract.  Position open until filled.

Qualifications:

Experience with special education school-aged students is required.  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education is required.  Must possess or be eligible for NM Public Education Department licensure. Blind and Visually Impaired licensure is preferred or willing to acquire.  Will be required to become Braille proficient.
